Terms & Data Protection

Everyone has small print!

Our terms, conditions and privacy policy are detailed below. These are to protect you from any unscrupulous business practises as well as support us in maintaining a viable business so as we can both still be here to work together in 20 years or more! Please take a read through to be sure you're OK with everything.

The main points most people like to be aware of are that we don't pass on or sell your details to anyone and that payments are handled securely through Stripe – we do not hold your financial details. Terms & Conditions

1. Booking

a) Bookings for courses at your premises must be within 50 miles of MK17 0EH. Bookings made in error at distances greater than this will qualify for a full refund or we may offer you an additional travel price if you are interested.
b) Bookings can be made online up to 10 days prior to start date and as far as 12 months ahead.
c) Last minute bookings can be made by telephone subject to availability. We will made every effort to help you if possible.
d) Bookings are only secured when payment has cleared.
e) On a rare occasion, if we have to cancel a booking we will provide you with as much notice as possible and contact you to discuss alternative dates. In such a case you may choose to receive a full refund.

2. Payment

a) Payment is due in full at time of booking.
b) Payment may be made online via debit or credit card.
c) If you wish to pay by cheque or bank payment please contact us so a we can hold your course date for 5 days whilst waiting for your payment to clear.
d) Please note that payments taken for courses at your premises are for up to 6 trainees. Additional trainees will be billed at the published rate and are to be paid no less than 3 weeks prior to start date when you also submit trainee details (see qualification requirements below).
e) Our online payments are handled via Stripe a secure 3rd party payment gateway. We hold no financial records of customers.
f) All prices quoted are exclusive of VAT which will be added at the current rate and your receipt will be emailed to you when payment is made.

3. Cancellation, changing dates & refunds

a) Cancellations may incur a charge and refunds are made in accordance with the following:
If made 12 weeks or more prior to course date: full refund
If made from 6 up to 12 weeks prior to course date: 75% refund
If made from 3 to 6 weeks prior to course date: 50% refund
If made less than 3 weeks from course date no refund is due and full payment is retained.
b) If you wish to change the date of your course this may be done up to 6 weeks before the start with no penalty but you cannot change the date and then use the new date to meet our criteria to cancel with no charge!
If you change your date from 3 to 6 weeks prior there is a charge of 25%
If you change your date from 1 to 3 weeks of the course start date there will be a charge of 50%
Any change of date within a week of starting is subject to the full price, i.e. no refund.
c) Our club members get 50% off any cancellation or date movement charges provided you have been a member for at least 2 weeks before invoking this benefit.

4. Qualification requirements

a) We are legally obligated to check the identity of any and all candidates for nationally recognised qualifications. For this reason it is essential that you supply all the details requested for each candidate. This request will be sent to you in an email when you book and you must submit the data at least 2 weeks prior to the course date so as it can be checked and entered into the system.
b) On the first day of any course all candidates must bring official photographic proof of ID with them. Examples: Passport, E.U. drivers license etc.
c) Certificates will not be issued to any candidates not fulfilling these obligations or matching their ID. Additional costs may be incurred if ID checks are requested after the course is completed.

5. Premises

a) If you book a course at your premises you are committing to having the available space and resources. If we arrive and there are inadequate facilities we reserve the right to cancel the course and no refund will be due – even for members of our benefits club.
You must provide:
Adequate seating and lighting for a comfortable learning environment.
Adequate space for any practical e.g. for First Aid courses we require floor space of approx. 2m x 2m for every 3 trainees.
If you have any queries about what is required for your particular course please make sure you contact us prior to booking.
Adequate toilet and hand washing facilities.
Suitable space for refreshments.
Refreshments (At least fresh drinking water!)
b) Bookings for courses held at our premises: Please be aware that class size will vary and this effects venue. From 1 to 6 people these are held at Ridge Hill Farm, MK17 0EH, from 7 upwards the venue is MK College, MK6 5LP. You will be notified 1 week prior to course date which venue to attend. If you are reliant upon public transport please let us know before booking. If venue affects your ability to attend please let us know when you book so we can solve the problem ahead of time!

Data protection

Personal Data

B-Fast holds and processes information about learners, corporate clients, and others for administrative, approval and commercial purposes.  When handling such information, we must comply with the Data Protection Act 1998 (the Act).  In summary personal data shall:
• be processed fairly and lawfully
• be obtained for a specified and lawful purpose and shall not be processed in any manner incompatible with the purpose
• be adequate, relevant and not excessive for the purpose
• be accurate and up-to-date
• not be kept for longer than necessary for the purpose
• be processed in accordance with the data subject’s rights
• be kept safe from unauthorised processing and accidental loss, damage or destruction
• not be transferred to a country outside the European Economic Area, unless that country has equivalent levels of protection for personal data, except in specified circumstances.

We use the information and data you provide for administering courses, complying with requirements for delivering and awarding qualifications, marketing, operating our members club and other related processes.

It is your responsibility to provide us with accurate data and to let us know if the data requires updating. When you do so, we are responsible for updating our records promptly. At any time you may request, in writing, a copy of any data held about you and we can supply the information. We may charge £10 for this service.

If you wish we can remove you from our database but this may prevent us from administering any qualifications you are working towards. In the process of delivering and awarding qualifications we pass on relevant personal data to the awarding body (AoFA Qualifications) and they also deal with your data in accordance with data protection requirements.

Your data is stored and protected in compliance with the legislation.
