First Aid at Work Annual Refresher

The Health & Safety Executive recommend that all first aiders in the workplace receive annual refresher training to keep their emergency skills and confidence up to date. This 4 hour course reviews all the FAW basics and includes practising basic life support skills.

If held at your premises we can tailor the course to any specific first aid that relates more prominently to your line of work. 

First Aid at Work Requalification

This 2 day course is to retrain those with an existing FAW certificate which is about to expire or has expired not more than 1 month ago. (3 months in special circumstances – contact us for details.)

Content is the same as a full 3 day course but delivered over 2 days. It results in the full renewal of a Level 3 First Aid at Work certificate.

Unit 1. Emergency First Aid at Work

1. Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider.
2. Be able to assess an incident.
3. Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is breathing normally.
4. Be able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally.
5. Be able to recognise and assist a casualty who is choking.
6. Be able to manage a casualty who is choking.
7. Be able to manage a casualty who is in shock.
8. Be able to manage a casualty with a minor injury.

Unit 2. Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the Workplace

1. Be able to conduct a secondary survey.
2. Be able to administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints.
3. Be able to administer FirstAid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries.
4. Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries.
5. Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with burns and scalds.
6. Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with an eye injury.
7. Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning.
8. Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis.
9. Be able to administer First Aid to a casualty with suspected major illness.

Level 2 Award in CPR & AEDs

This 4 hour course provides both the understanding and skills to deal with a person having a heart attack or cardiac arrest. It meets HSE recommendations covering provision and use of AEDs in the workplace and conforms with recommendations of the Resuscitation Council.

Ideal for anyone who has access to an AED including members of the public and communities where public access AEDs have been installed.
